As the national affiliate of the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA), Zero Waste Canada works from the bottom-up, engaging communities, businesses and government entities in the transition away from the linear economy, and end-of pipe remedies such as landfill and incineration, towards the circular/sharing economy, with front-end solutions under Zero Waste.
As part of our initiatives, ZWC offers education programs that are designed to provide a solid foundation of Zero Waste practices, policies, values, and concepts. The courses aim to help the general public, municipalities, waste professionals and community leaders gain experience about the Zero Waste practices and how to implement these locally to achieve their Zero Waste goals.
ZWC courses also support organizations that are looking to become Zero Waste Certified. Our Zero Waste Facility Certification program is formally recognized by the Zero Waste International Alliance. The program is open to any facility seeking to work in the direction of Zero Waste, regardless of size, location or current levels of performance. You can find out more about our certification on our website!
